This course teaches students about some of the key problems, concepts, events, actors, and institutions, in the complex world of climate politics. It presumes no special knowledge about the science of climate change. It is organized around three broad questions: how will climate change affect the governance of countries, and the livelihoods of people, around the world; why is it so hard for governments to take strong measures to reduce emissions; and what policies should governments adopt?
